Every drill hole in a roof tile or underlayment is a potential weak point. Water can penetrate, the tile can break, and long-term watertightness is compromised. Additionally, drilling on the roof takes time — tools must be carried up, drill holes need to be sealed, and a misdrilled tile is lost.
How Tool-Free Installation Works
NEXCAPE roof penetrations made of TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) replace the conventional roof tile at the penetration point. Installation is extremely simple:
- Step 1: Remove original tile at the desired location
- Step 2: Thread PV cables through the NEXCAPE penetration
- Step 3: Insert the penetration in place of the original tile
- Step 4: Continue routing cables in the attic space
No tools, no drilling, no sealing with silicone. The MC4 connectors do not need to be disassembled — the openings are large enough to pass the plug connections through.
The Material: TPU in 3D Printing
The penetrations are manufactured using a 3D printing process in Germany. TPU is a highly flexible, UV-resistant material that adapts to various tile profiles. Unlike rigid plastics, TPU does not break and remains elastic even with temperature fluctuations.
