PV Roof Penetration for Beaver Tail Tiling — Made in Germany

The beaver tail tile is one of the oldest roof tiles and is frequently found on old buildings and heritage-protected roofs. The small, overlapping tiles (double or crown laying) pose a particular challenge during PV installation: at the cable exit point, the cable can easily chafe against the tile edge. The Dachdurchführung24 cable penetration made of UV-resistant TPU acts as a mechanical abrasion protector around the cable, providing lasting protection.

Why Dachdurchführung24 fits beaver tail roofs

  • Abrasion protection at the tile edge — flexible TPU prevents PV cables from chafing through
  • Gentle on old tiling — no tile replacement, inserted into existing opening (ideal for old buildings/heritage sites)
  • Tool-free installation — cables, including MC4 connectors, can be inserted via side slots
  • TPU, Made in Germany — UV-resistant, −40 °C to +80 °C, available from stock

Product Variants

Available for 2 and 4 PV strings, each with or without an earth connection (PE). Lengths: 105 / 125 / 150 mm — for dense beaver tail tiling, 105/125 mm are common, 150 mm for more clearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the roof penetration suitable for beaver tail tiling?
Yes. With three lengths (105/125/150 mm), it can be adapted to typical double/crown laying. Clean positioning at the existing cable opening is important.

Which length is suitable for beaver tail tiles?
For dense double laying, 105 or 125 mm is the standard choice; 150 mm offers more clearance for higher counter battens or insulation.

Will the (often old) tiles be damaged?
No. The penetration is inserted into the existing cable opening and protects the cable at the tile edge from abrasion – the roof covering remains untouched. This is a particular advantage on old buildings and heritage roofs.

Do the MC4 connectors need to be disassembled?
No. The cables, including connectors, are inserted via the side guide slots – this saves time on the roof.
